The definition of a local gem, not surprised this is a South Bay/Gardena institution. I'm not a huge teriyaki person but I specifically have cravings for the teriyaki at Pitburger and I'm convinced it's because of their sauce, which isn't sickly sweet or too thick like a lot of other places. My go to is the teri beef burger - don't sleep on the fries. Cash only, big convenient parking lot. You can also call ahead to place your order though I didn't have time to my last visit and only waited about 10 minutes.

I decided to give this place a try, after waiting for a Gardena freight train slowly go by, I have pass this place numerous times, it's on a corner lot by itself. This a Japanese eatery that serve breakfast and Mexican food, it's a take out only and cash only too, there is room for sitting but now it is occupied by storage and boxes, there is a restroom in the back of this place faceing the parking lot. I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate it was loaded with a lettuce salad with a small toasted hambuger bun, my food was delicious.

Love me some teriyaki!! Read about this place on News Break and gave it a try. Glad I did. Cash only, take out only and plenty of parking. Love that their menu is simple and no extras. Also, have to say they have some pretty good onion rings . Got the small beef teriyaki bowl and everything was great. Great portion size on the meat. Also they give a great amount of sauce! Give it a try !

The best teriyaki burger I've ever had! You can call ahead and order pickup, or you can go to the physical stand (no seating available) and order there. The stand itself looks a little rough around the edges but the food was so good. We ordered a single teriyaki burger ($5.25 + tax) and a beef combo teriyaki dinner plate (meat, rice, salad and bread, $14.90+tax). The single teriyaki burger came with 2 slabs of teriyaki beef that was surprisingly chewy (in a good way). Our friend ordered the double teriyaki burger ($9.25 + tax) which came with 4 slabs of teriyaki beef; but I think the single teriyaki burger is perfectly balanced with the bun and lettuce. The portions are huge. If you get either the teriyaki dinner plate or teriyaki bowls -- you can definitely split it between 2-3 people and still feel full. It's such a great bang for your buck.

Admittedly, today's visit was my first visit in over 40 years! I used to pick up lunch or dinner from Pit Burger when I lived closer to Pit Burger and always enjoyed their food. I ordered a teriyaki chicken burger and chili cheese fries, so yummylicious, but the teriyaki chicken burger got a bit messy. One will need a lot of napkins when wolfing down this sandwich. The chili cheese fries were tasty & the chili is very mild. I would've preferred a bit spicier chili. Pit Burger stand apparently has gone unchanged since my last visit, except for the menu and prices. Unfortunately, only one beverage is available for purchase and no bottled water, which is the only downside I can think of. Also, cash is king at Pit Burger, no credit cards accepted. Overall, I am pleased with my visit to Pit Burger. Will I return in another 40 years? Most likely sooner than 40 years Oh, I ordered a single size of teriyaki chicken plate to take home for my dinner tonight.

I heard about this place from family and decided to give it a try. I ordered the plate combo with extra bread since I was sharing it with someone else, and it was definitely enough for two. The combo included chicken, beef, rice, and salad, with two slices of bread. I paid extra for an additional slice, but honestly, it wasn't worth it. The extra bread was just a grilled hamburger bun, so I ended up with a top and bottom burger bun, which was a bit disappointing--I was expecting something more like a Hawaiian roll. The food was good, and the plate was generously packed. I particularly enjoyed the sauce; it wasn't too sweet or thick, which was a nice touch. The location is primarily for pick-up, which worked fine for me since I planned to take it home anyway. Considering the portion size, the price is fair. I'm curious to try the burger next time, but it seems like they're best known for their teriyaki bowls. The meat was a little tough, but since it was charbroiled, that makes sense, and I still enjoyed it overall. The location gives of a local ambience definitely saw some people who knew each other greet one another it's for sure a hidden gem.

This is such a hidden gem it's a great spot for a quick and comforting bite. It is a cash only place though so keep that in mind. It's also easier to call ahead and order to cut down the wait. There is plenty of parking as well. The food itself was all at least 4/5. I've been craving chili cheese fries and these definitely hit the spot even though they forgot the onion we asked for. The teriyaki bowl was good and a good portion too. The teriyaki burger was really good and flavorful, but messy to eat because of all the sauce I almost wish it had less. Overall, the food is definitely worth coming back for!

After passing by Pit Burger for over the years, I finally decided to give them a try. I always thought they were closed since I never saw anyone there. The place is located up the street from Sam's club, and the idea of charbroil teriyaki always sounded good. It wasn't until I saw a review on Instagram that I realized it was the same spot I had been curious about. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. We debated between the teriyaki burger and the combo plate that included a roll, salad, and both beef and chicken teriyaki. I opted for the combo plate. A sweet customer recommended I come back to try their chili rice and their famous teriyaki burger. Food: Chicken and Beef Combo Plate: 4/5 I loved the rice, the veggies, the roll, and the balance of the teriyaki sauce, which wasn't overly sweet like most. Beverage: They also serve Bang juices here. It reminded me of my teenage years when I loved mixing orange Bang with piña colada Bang, though you need extra ice to keep it cold. I might try it again next time. Service: Friendly and welcoming. Cleanliness: The parking lot and surrounding areas were very clean. They have a private parking lot which isn't visible from Normandie. I would definitely recommend this spot, especially when craving teriyaki. It's great that it's located not too far from me.

This beloved establishment has been a local favorite for over 50 years. Due to its popularity, lines can be long, especially during lunchtime, so it's best to call your order ahead. Fortunately, there is ample parking available. Upon arrival, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of the grill. I tried the beef and chicken teriyaki plate served on a bed of rice with pickles. The grilled flavor was prominent, and the teriyaki sauce struck a perfect balance, not overly sweet. However, the true standout is the double teriyaki cheeseburger! With two thin charbroiled beef patties, melted cheese, and savory teriyaki sauce, it's easy to see why this place has such a devoted local following.

I learned about this place from a Youtube video and had to check it out. Here's what we ordered... Teriyaki chicken plate with double chicken: Very good Double cheeseburger: Good Chili cheese fries with onions: Loved it I agree with other reviewers about the teriyaki sauce. It is better than average. I don't eat this type of food very often, but definitely will be back in the future. The total for the 3 items was $32 and change. And yes, it's cash only.
